MISSION MAKE MERRY


Holiday 4 Heroes supports our military families at home by giving them a Christmas filled with joy and less worries.

Again this year, we have been given the opportunity to provide a Merrier Christmas for local Military Families, who may be going through some difficult times.  These families are recommended to us through the VA.

Christmas 2023 for 18 Families

Our community pulls together and through their tremendous generosity, we purchased gifts from their wish list, all the trimmings for a joyous holiday and gift cards for their Thanksgiving and Holiday Dinner.  


We have had such an amazing month at Holiday 4 Heroes. So much joy, heartache and tears, as we provided a merrier Christmas for 18 local, disabled Veterans families, helped another family through the heartache of losing a loved one, had a amazing time at the VA's Christmas party for families making reindeer food with all the kids, and providing food for many of those that needed it. We are truly blessed with a caring team, great partnerships and extremely generous donors.

​Our hearts are bursting with pride for what all of you do and we are so grateful that we are allowed to do this mission. we can't think of a better way to celebrate this holy season. Thank you to all that made this years Mission Make Merry again possible. Special thanks to our Gold Star Moms, Blue Star Moms, PEO groups and the 47th St. Volunteers, Bonnie, JoAnn, Nancy, Pauline, Linda  and Carol, for always being there for our families, all our wrapping elves and to Tricia Kinlaw for keeping us so organized.

​Dante, a Mariner High School sophomore, has been nominated to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum: National Security – Diplomacy, Intelligence & Defense in Washington D.C. this summer.  Dante is from one of our first Mission Make Merry families.  His family has had many hardships these past few years.
“Dante Ellis is one of those exceptional students,” his teacher, Mr. Ways said. “While not all students who are recommend take advantage of this opportunity, the few who do are never disappointed.”
While Dante is in Washington, D.C., from July 23-28, he will have the opportunity to learn the latest intelligence strategies, listen to experts, as well as experience public service in action.  -The experience will give attendees a direct view into various careers, such as national security, foreign affairs, intelligence and defense.
“We are excited,” Jessica Ellis, his mom, said. “But, just a little nervous. He is on the spectrum and has never really done anything without us. I think he will do fine. He is mainstreamed in high school.”
“I wanted to join JROTC because my dad was in the Army. I enjoy it because I am learning to be a leader and I have shown improvement, as well as gone up in rank,” he said. Please help Dante reach his goal to raise $5,000 for his trip, as the program session will cost $3,295, which does not include travel to Washington D.C and lodging.

Mission Make Merry is Complete!  Thank You!!!!!!!


​We hope you are all safe and are moving through the many steps it takes to get our lives back on track.


We at Holiday 4 Heroes have in-need Military Families who have been greatly affected by this catastrophic event in our community. These service members served our country bravely and honorably, yet struggle to return to “normal” life. Some are homeless, some are in Section 8 housing, and those with homes still struggle to meet the needs of their family. Hurricane Ian has created an incredible hardship on these veterans and their families. Holiday 4 Heroes has exhausted nearly all resources in an attempt to provide assistance for food, household goods, and basic clothing. We have also pledged to adopt 20 In-need Military families for our yearly Mission Make Merry Program.


Our major fund raiser schedule for October 10, which supports our Mission Make Merry Program, has been postponed thus affecting our current funds to help our in-need families as well as our major holiday initiative Mission Make Merry.

When we received a call from the VA two weeks ago for help because food for our Homeless and In-need Veterans Food Pantry was low, we put out the word.

It was an amazing Holiday Season for 14 Military Families who needed a little extra love and support this year. Through your help as

  • Santa’s Helpers taking tags and purchasing presents and gift cards
  • Santa’s Elves with 10 Gift Wrapping Parties, making these gifts look beautiful, for our families
  • Santa’s Elves Delivery Team delivering all of these presents to 14 families in one day.

It certainly “takes a village” and we have all of you to thank for the tremendous outpouring of generosity again this year.

“Merry Christmas dear Jonette! I am the OEF Military Combat Veteran who served in Afghanistan as infantryman. I was OVERWHELMED with joy early this morning on this rainy day in Connecticut with GENEROUS donation of gifts for me, my wife and my two little babies (4 and 1) ok four isn't a "baby" but she is to me.”
Anyway.... you went above and beyond with your treasures for my family. Everything was wrapped beautifully and hand delivered and I am just so happy with everything from you. This was the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me. Covid and delta in Connecticut turned into a 21 month shut down of CT (we copy NY). And now it's another thing and there are more mandates again. It has been horrendous. My dog died and this was my first Christmas without her. I was so sad. I am SO HAPPY FROM THIS GESTURE YOU really cheered me up. How kind are you and your beautiful military organization that helps our troops and veterans.

On Saturday, January 23, 2021, Holiday 4 Heroes was honored to receive a donation from the American Gold Star Mothers of SWFL.  Gold Star Mothers are women who have lost a child while engaged in an action against the United States. Their organization donated supplies for our Backpack for homeless Veterans program including Flashlights, protein bars, Bombas socks, and McDonald's gift cards along with other necessary items.

The backpacks will be packed and donated to the Cape Coral Veterans Administration for distribution. 

It was a great honor to have Kim Hayes, Lisa Moletzsky and Bill Eggers presenting these donations.
